"Why" is a big question I hear a lot so I may use this question topic a few times. This entry is about why I'm republishing all of my old books instead of starting fresh.
I've written 30 books. Yes, I said 30. Some of them belong to series like the Identity Collection, Peterson Estate, the Fairytale Adventures, and more. Only two of those series were finished and one of those two connect with another series. I decided to republish them so the books that continue with the series will be together where they belong. For the ones that were finished, I didn't want to leave them behind. Having ALL of my books under one name just makes more sense to me since I am writing under one pen name. If I had decided to write under more than one pen name, it would've been a different story. I'm not changing how I write because it is who I am.
So far, I have republished a few books that I still love. I guess I always will. Some of them, I did remove a line here or a word there. The audiobooks that belong to those published books will remain as they are. Why? Because the narrators busted their behinds to record them and out of respect for them, I'd like to keep them as is. Amazon reasured me that they will remain safe from those hackers or sellers. We'll see about that. Most of those books will have new faces. Let me show you examples...
This is the audiobook for Escaping Her Past. It is using the same design the cover for paperback and ebook orginally had.
Below is the new cover for the paperback and ebook. It is a women's paranormal thriller. I designed the cover based on paranormal thriller, like I did the first time around. But I like the new design so much better! I've learned a lot since I began designing covers and I hope it shows.
By adding in the decorative lines above and below the title, I gave it a little women's fiction design, combining the two elements that the first cover didn't do. It does something for the cover, I think.
Another reason why I'm republishing all of my books is because I wanted to show people the true number of books I've written. It tells my readers I'm not new at this. I'm not new. I'm just starting over. Does that make any sense? I know you're wondering, why am I refacing my books. That's something I've been working on anyway. It keeps the books fresh and may attract new readers so as time passes, the covers get an updated look. I've lost count for how many times Mother of Dragons had a new cover. Same goes for the Peterson Estate series. I've grown as a designer so I want my covers to reflect that.
Okay, that's what I've got for this week. I'll see you again soon! Thank you!!
