I'm Moving!
Newsletters have already been sent out, so now I can make the big announcement here! I have officially moved! My new website is ambergrosjean.com !!! I couldn't be happier! I am also moving my blog and newsletter, so WIX is no longer my home. It took me a long minute to make the decision because I was torn. After hearing the cost for my own domain, I knew the decision was made. I wouldn't find anything more affordable if I went somewhere else and staying here was going to be

Busy Times
This is the time of year when I'm really busy. The dizzy kind where you go to bed with all your-body-parts-aching-busy. If you didn't know already, I clean rooms for a small local hotel. I'm usually done before 1, but next month we have inspections here at the hotel, which means Billy (my hubby) and I are going above and beyond cleaning everything. We select 10 rooms, or the owner does, and those rooms get a deep cleaning. Ever since Billy and I started working here, the hote

Real vs Fiction (in my stories)
There is a little of me in every story I write. Sometimes, I sprinkle a little of my personality around, hitting each character or I'll dump a list of things onto one character. And then there are stories with events that really happened. This blog post is about the real things that I've experienced or happened to someone I personally know. So, let's talk about the real vs fiction in my stories... In the series The Fairytale Adventures. My granddaughter inspired the main cha

Changes are Coming
I've been growing as I learn new things. Lately, I've been learning a lot on Canva , and that means some things on my site and in my newsletter will be getting a few "upgrades". I've also upgraded my editing process, which I've shared in my newsletter for the 1st this month. If you missed it, you can sign up for my mailer HERE . I really like Canva. I use it for all of my posts on Instagram and Facebook. I also use it for my banners, advertising, and more. I've been grouping

Tips on editing
In 2007, I published my first book. I was so excited to finally be published that I opted out of the publisher's offered editing. I was confident that my story was perfect. When I got my copies and started reading the book, I began spotting all the errors and felt incompetent. I was a good writer, but it wasn't showing that. My editing alone wasn't enough. But I also didn't know how to edit back in those days either. In time, I did learn how to self-edit before having someone

Upcoming Books
I have two books coming out next week. One of the books is a rerelease. It's Nanobytes. The other book is a new release titled Lost Through Time. Meanwhile, I'm editing one book and writing two books! Have you ever wished for a better life? Sophie Martin, an overweight and lonely teenager, longed for just that. But when she takes a job testing products, she never could have imagined the unexpected turn her life would take. Suddenly, she loses all her weight, gains superhuman

Alphabet Murders
I am in the editing process for this novel. I have no idea how many rounds it will take; each book is different. But I thought I would share some details about the book for those who are waiting for it. You know who you are. This is a child's card. I made it using Canva for moments like this. It is one of the "clues" for the story. Evie Cross (MC) is sure that the sheriff in the small town of Haven Creek is incompetent. For one, he's sharing the full details of the crime sce

Small Spaces—Introduction
There are a few things about me, you probably already know. If not, allow me to share these details with you... I live in a small space. I love interior design. I enjoy making things (other than stories). This is what this category is all about. For the last several years, I've lived in a hotel (not ashamed of that fact), and I have been able to put things in practice that I've learned over the years. HGTV is one of my favorite channels, which I haven't been able to watch for

Goals for February
Since tomorrow is the beginning of a new month, I thought I'd share my goals for the month. Even though the month only has 28 days, I figure it'll be just as busy as any other month would be. Each day will be something new in and out of writing... New seasons continue on some of my favorite shows, so I'll be catching them on Paramount, Peacock, and Hulu so I can enjoy them with the pause button when needed. That also gives me a wider window to enjoy them with Billy. Fire Coun

Genre Hopping: Fun or Crazy?
I suppose someone could think it's crazy that I write in so many genres, but I think it's fun! By taking away those limitations, I am free to really write what I want. I don't have to try to bend a story to work for me. I can just let it flow naturally and be what it is. Here are the reasons why I genre hop... I have to be true to who I am. Outside of writing, I love different groups in movies, music, food, clothing styles, etc. Why would my writing be any different? It's alr

Halfway Through the First Month
Time is still slipping away from me--we're already in the middle of the first month! Can you believe it? I don't make New Year's resolutions, but if I had, this would be about the time when they begin to fizzle. Do you have that problem? What do you do to stay motivated? I'd say for the last ten years maybe, I've been setting goals instead of resolutions. I'll set goals for the whole year and then smaller goals for each month that connect to each of the bigger goals. I set my

Instagram Tips and Tricks
Are you getting whiplash from Instagram's changes? You're not alone--me too. The bad part about things, I knew nothing about it until I started seeing posts from people I wasn't following. I guess IG was thinking I needed to see these posts--you know, based on the algorithm, which I'm still trying to figure out lol. I see more "suggested" posts than posts from people I actually follow and want to see. It's frustrating, but what can we do, right? So, I thought I'd begin the ne

Saying Goodbye to 2025
It's hard to believe this is the last Saturday of the year. The entire year. Looking back on the year, I'm amazed at how well it turned out. This is probably my best year. When I began publishing my books independently, around 2010, I initially used Amazon because I couldn't afford to hire someone to bind my books. Amazon did all that, and it didn't cost me anything. Of course, they would take their cut, which I was okay with. Up until 2024, they were the only place my books

Alphabet Murders
Evie Cross moved to Haven Creek to start over. Putting her past behind her, she hopes the small town will accept her and take her in. When the murders begin, Evie wonders how incompetent the police can be. Telling everything to the reporters--Evie knows they can't be that stupid. Calling it robberies gone wrong. But then she's attacked. And none of her things are missing. If that's enough, the murders are in order by name... Including her attack. Being the only one to survive

Spotlight--check to see who...
This is a special blog post! Today I have two spotlights to share.... This is something I want to do with my blogs/newsletters. After I share someone's book in my newsletter, I'll upload it here. It won't be the same week each time so you're never going to expect when it happens! I'm a stinker that way lol. Between Roses by Enna L Foxwood Seventeen-year-old Eryn can't imagine a life without her influential friend. But then a tarnished bracelet changes everything. It sends he

End of the Year sale
Last year, I joined Draft2Digital, not knowing how things would turn out with them. Shortly after, I decided to include my books in their end-of-the-year sale, making all of my available books free. I was nervous about it, but thought taking the chance would be a good thing. It was. This year, I'm doing things a little differently. Some of my books will be free while others will be 50% off. I'm still taking a chance, but I have hopes my books will find readers who will cheris

The Facts...
Hello, I'm Amber Grosjean. I am a wife, mother, grandmother (they call me Nana), writer, friend, and the list goes on... I was a writer long before I was any of those things, but I was a wife and mother before I became a published author. I had faith that I was created for something. For the first 10 years of my life, I had no idea what it was, and I tried to give up. I was among the many who attempted suicide, and I'm one of the few who failed. It's the only thing in my life
