Genre Hopping: Fun or Crazy?

I suppose someone could think it's crazy that I write in so many genres, but I think it's fun! By taking away those limitations, I am free to really write what I want. I don't have to try to bend a story to work for me. I can just let it flow naturally and be what it is.
Here are the reasons why I genre hop...

I have to be true to who I am. Outside of writing, I love different groups in movies, music, food, clothing styles, etc. Why would my writing be any different? It's already who I am.
I have depression. I have had it since I can remember. My moods change constantly. Each of my books has a different mood. This ties to being who I am. I can write horror with heavy feelings like fear and anger, and write romance that feels light and humorous. Then write something in the middle. I'm not saying that every writer with depression does this, but I do. We're all different.
I love variaty. I would be bored if everything were the same—all the time. By the way, I never get bored lol. I heard somewhere that a person who gets bored easily is boring. My sister argued with me about that when we were kids. She gets bored easily lol.
I have a mix of different kinds of people in my head. If I tried to put all of them into one pile of book style, they would never forgive me. I have to live with these people! Okay, they may not be really real, but they feel real to me. I don't think I could live with myself if I allowed these imaginary people to fit inside one bubble. If you're a psychologist, ignore this one. I'm not crazy or insane lol. Okay, maybe a little lol.
Outside of writing, I follow the rules. Most of them, anyway. We're not "allowed" to have anything but a microwave where I live, but I have all the cooking equipment that you can plug in, so I am breaking that rule lol. Oh, and we're not supposed to smoke, but we do (don't judge). Other than that, I don't break rules. With writing, I can break rules and still sleep at night. I can cross the edge without falling. Genre hopping is one of them. I never did understand why we're "not" supposed to write more than one or two genres. It didn't make sense to me.
I don't choose the stories--they choose me. Genre hopping gives me more freedom for that.
