Consistent Storylines

Great story, but the narrator tends to be monotone. For example, when speaking as the main character, the vocal pressure needs to be different. Also, it would have been better if a female voice had been used for speaking the female lines

The Mage and the Living Scroll

The Mage and the Living Scroll by Amber Grosjean is a great adventure urban fantasy. Craig W. Van Sickle did a great job with the narration. The story is entertaining, interesting, action, thought- provoking and more.

What a great concept. A teenager that has premonitions? Rad!
This is listed as Adult Fiction, but I think it should be YA. If I review this with a YA lens, I'm more generous in my rating.
But it's not YA.
The writing felt clunky and juvenile, with some scenes and conversations overexplained making it feel monotonous.
Not a bad concept, I'm just not sold on the execution of the story due to the clunky writing.

Farmer Takes A Wife

"Fun, clean romcom"

A fun, clean romcom. 5 stars
I so enjoyed following James and Holly’s tumultuous romance.
Who doesn’t love a cowboy, right?
Well, Holly has her doubts but James does a good job of convincing her when he takes her on a tour of the farm.
A city girl on a farm? With Aunt Velma’s help, that’s a big yes!
You’ll fall in love with this couple and their story!

Short and predicable. She really rushed the ending. Little far fetched with the television access. At least Farmer did take a wife.

A lighthearted romance

I enjoyed listening to the audio version of this heartwarming rom-com. It felt less like listening to a book and more like watching the characters come alive through the narrator’s voice.
Ranch owner James is willing to try anything to find himself a wife, even something as unconventional as speed dating. But when he encounters guarded and pragmatic Holly, he sets out to win her over.
This was a short, clean read, with humorous dialogue, captivating characters, and an adorably meddlesome aunt determined to help speed things along. I look forward to reading more books by Amber Grosjean.

The story happened pretty quickly and could use some filling out.

I enjoyed the premise of the story, it was interesting and I found parts of the story to be quite engaging. the story over all developed very quickly and didn't have enough time to fill out and let the reader really dive into the world or any particular event that was happening. despite that the time that we were able to spend getting to know the characters was fun and they were written in fun ways. The performance was top notch as it's always a pleasure to hear anything narrated by C.L. Berns, those soothing tones will help draw you into any story he reads!

From an Email:
"Cursed Blood pulled me right in,Diana’s struggle with the curse and her fight for love amid chaos felt raw and real. The blend of supernatural tension with emotional stakes hit deep. That FBI twist? Bold and fresh.
Really admire how you fused love, sacrifice, and danger into one powerful arc. Looking forward to what’s next in the Bloodline Curse series." --Rachel Patrick

This paranormal murder mystery was a fun read! Never thought I’d say that about the genre, but the author wrote it in both entertaining and intriguing writing style.
Hannah is the ghost in the story who helps her best friend solve murders, and together, they make a formidable team. I’d love a ghost friend like Hannah, to snoop around people’s houses and eavesdrop on conversations!

5.0 out of 5 stars Two sisters, one boy...

Two sisters, one boy. This is bound to lead to family strife. As is normal for all of us as we grow up, some decisions we make are good, others bad, and many are just plain silly. These two sisters, Sarah and Julie, are no exception to the difficulties of living with a sister who is almost the same age. It is interesting to observe the girls as they mature.
“Home” by author Amber Grosjean is a light, easy-to-read novel, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. The characters are well-developed and enjoyable to get to know. Lessons to be learned are subtly and craftily woven into the storyline. I recommend this book. — Pat Spencer, author of “Sticks in a Bundle: The Early Years” and the sequel, “Transitions.”

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved the twists and turns

I received an electronic copy and served as an ARC reviewer for this new release by Amber Grojean.
“Escaping Her Past” by Amber Grojean is an engrossing and entertaining read. I was caught up in the suspense and family drama.
The twists and turns she skillfully created took me by surprise. Kathy, the main character, comes with a lifetime of baggage, yet that doesn’t hold her back. There’s a serious life lesson in the way, with the love and support of those who love her, Kathy takes charge of what her future will be. “Escaping Her Past” is a good read. I recommend it. — Pat Spencer, author of the Sticks in a Bundle Trilogy and Story of a Stolen Girl.
