Behind the Shadows, part 3: Real-Life Haunted Places

I love a good haunted place. I've seen a couple of shows where "real" investigators toured haunted places. I don't know if those shows are actually real, but it's cool to watch them. Of course, my husband isn't into that sort of thing, so I don't watch them very often.
Before I met Billy, I had been to a few places that were allegedly haunted. I've never seen a ghost/spirit and wanted to see or hear one. I went with my friends. The first place I visited, we went to an abandoned building, and of course, we did get caught. Luckily, none of us went to jail. When the officers said we could go, I drove us out of there as fast as I legally could. We kept watching behind us to make sure they weren't following. But before the cops showed up, we did get inside the building and had a look around. The only thing I saw was evidence that a homeless person had been living there--a mattress, a pile of clothes, and half-eaten food. We were in the car getting ready to leave when the cops showed up. I was disappointed and scared. I did not do anything like that ever again.
The second place I visited was a small bridge on the north side of town. I was told that there had been stories where you could see headlights from a car moving toward you along the creek. I parked and walked to the center of the bridge and looked down the creek, waiting for the moment when the headlights could be seen. Again, I was disappointed.
I believe ghosts/spirits are real. My grandmother told me about the time she'd seen one. My aunt was a baby at the time, so my mother was a toddler when it happened. My grandmother was doing the dishes when she heard the baby crying and went in to check on her. She had seen her aunt or grandmother (can't remember which) standing over the cradle. She put her finger over her lips (like someone saying "shhhh"). And then she was gone. I hung on every word as my grandmother told this story. Maybe it won't happen to me because I want it to happen. I don't know, but the experience would be pretty cool.
Have you ever been to a real haunted place? Or witnessed a ghost?
