Mother's Day!

Since tomorrow is Mother's Day, I thought I would dedicate today's blog to Mothers.

I asked my husband what he liked the most about my mother a few years ago. His answer remains the same now. He told me the best thing about her was having me. I almost cried when he said that. I couldn't come up with that answer myself, hadn't thought about it that way. If you don't know my story, it's a sad one. I was bulled growing up--at school and at home. Though I have two sisters, I was singled out to do extra chores and the rules were different for me than with them. Today, I don't have a relationship with her at all. This is the day I'm sad because I'd always wanted a relationship with her. Like every other kid, I just wanted to be loved, to feel loved. But where I lack with her, I gained with my mother-in-law. Mrs Grosjean picked me to be her favorite and it always made me smile. Today, I think of her, may she rest in peace.

She not only gave me her son, but she gave me a mother-daughter relationship that I longed for and I miss her so much. I'm in awe of that woman because she managed to raise 15 children while her husband worked full time. She was a stay-at-home mother. Two of her children are with her now.

If you haven't told your mother or mother-in-law how you feel, don't let another day go by before saying something to her. As a mother, I know we enjoy hearing it. Mrs Grosjean, I know you're looking down on us, so Happy Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day to you as well. I hope your day is special and you are met with much joy and happiness!

One of my daughters already sprinkled gifts upon me. I got a necklace (now I just need to remember where I put it lol), a Mountain Dew cup as well as a "nail" kit (it was together), a picture that says Nana on it, sunglasses, and a mother and two cub bear set that she made. They were supposed to be keychains but they were too thick to put the ring on them, so I just have them sitting on my shelf. It works for me. She also gave me a small skillet that you can make a single egg in. I'm using it for decoration since it's an iron skillet. It's kind of cute, if you ask me.

I'd love to hear what you got for Mother's Day. Please share in the comments below. Do you have any special memories you'd like to share? Thank you! Again, happy Mother's Day!!
